Edit: Just one more suggestion, don’t get anything like pencils or expensive little nicknacks- while they are totally cute, they also totally get thrown in the garbage about a week after the shower.

i dont want to make a diaper cake. i know about the baby bottle with candy. i’ve been searching every possible site already and i’m not too satisfied. i remember going to a baby shower with my mom as a little girl and i remember that they had pins for all the guests. anyone know about this? i remember mini baby bottles and a big safety pin… probably hot glue? i also remeber a mini baby diaper on the pins too.

My Dad is throwing and paying for the baby shower. I have a little bit of help from my one sister but she is as clueless as I am about this whole baby shower thing. I’m having a girl, basic theme is gonna be pink. Just need ideas for shower favors and game prizes- if youve been to one before n thought it was cool or just basic ideas are great too. THANKS!

Well, first off the name is Beautiful!
Games: toilet paper(everyone uses toilet paper to guess how big your stomach is)
Poo-Poo Games( you take different baby foods and put them on diapers and they have to guess what food it is)
Clothes pin Games( everyone wears clothes pin, the trick is no one can cross their legs or arms and they cannot say the word baby, who ever does can have their clothes pin taken by someone else, and the don’t just take 1, they take all of them.)
Cotton balls( take a bowl of cotton balls and blindfold your guest and have them see how many balls they can put on their head with a spoon)
Word Scramble( take a list of baby items and mix them around and see who can unscramble the most word in 2 Min’s)
As for foods, what i did was take a pic of my ultrasound and had it placed on the cake, it came out beautiful and everyone loved it, placed the baby girl name on top and there you have it, an cake like no other. Also make some sandwiches and take some cookies cutters and use them to make your sandwiches into shapes that pertain to a baby..butterflies,etc. You can find them at Walmart.
Sherbet punch (take sherbet ice cream and mix it with 7up and chill)
Babies in a blanket( take sausage and use cookie cutters to cute cute shapes in the dough and bake)
Baby cookies (make cookies decorated with baby designs)

Thinking lives in the olden times. You can have as many baby showers you want even if you’re not pregnant. Well the last part is a little extreme, but anyways I like it when I get useful stuff from parties, like; nice smelling candles (like the person above described), little lotions, target has this $1.00 section for toiletries and so for this one shower I went to, they just bought those like aveeno, johnson&johnson tied them around these little bears, baked cookies are always good too, like personalized cookies or muffins. 3rd times a charm is kinda hard, I can’t really think of any favor that would go with that. Unless you buy like some inexpensive charm bracelets. Good luck
Baby Shower idea’s for favors & etc?
My shower is in June and we are throwing it at in an open outside pavilion. It will be a big pavilion.
We plan on doing it in the afternoon when it starts to cool off til around 7:30.

My baby shower was awesome, we had great games, one of them was, we had 10 diapers, each diaper had some kind of dressing in it (they made it look like doo doo) so we had to smell it and guess what is was, whoever got the most right ones won a prize. Then they sent me to the bathroom and they asked the girls things about me like, which clothes i had arrived to the party on? how many rings I had in my hand? how was my hair fixed? anyway several questions about my appereance, then they called me to come to the livingroom and they answered the questions and it was fun to see what they had answered nd compare to how i was again whoever got the most right answers won a prize. then they asked the girls to guess how many toilet paper squares they thought my belly was, whoever guessed it right won a prize it was 13! lol!
My cake was a baby stroller and they decorated everything with mini baby bottles.
Here is a really great favor….buy some bath salts in bulk and then create your own bath salt favors. Put them in inexpensive baby bottles or canning jars! Decorate the containers with pink ribbon and a customized label (ingredients/directions on one side….your shower info on the other!!). There is a seller on Ebay who sells these….I shall put her link below!!
Other great favors are photo frames and brag books.
For prizes….how about beginning scrapbooking kits? A relaxing sounds CD paired up with bath salts, bubble bath and a eye mask?? Think what it is YOU would want or think was cool…and then go from there. Great places to browse around for ideas are Bath&BodyWorks, Bed,Bath&Beyond, Michaels, JoAnns or any department store. IF you have enough time….EBAY is a great resource, too!!!

I think filling them with candy would be good. The colors of Reese’s Pieces look fall-like to me, so maybe they would go along with your theme?

We’re doing a pumpkin theme baby shower in Oct’. We just got 30 Clear orange plastic pumpkins that open and have a stem on top for the “Its a Girl” ribbon to go around and they are about 4 X 3 inches. We’re not sure of what else we can do with them or fill them with anyone have any ideas???

Keep it simple, you can do gift cards or fun little gifts but you don’t need to spend a fortune on.
Fill baby bottles with candy and add a ribbon.
